The skiing conditions in Bansko are excellent.
Well groomed tree-lined slopes, an efficient and modern lift infrastructure, and abundant snowfall make Bansko the number one
ski resort in Bulgaria.
With a recent 33 million EUR facelift and newly renovated
wide, tree-lined ski slopes Bansko gives you the widest available variety of skiing for any age and experience level. About 35% of the ski runs are suitable for beginners, 40% for intermediate, and 25% for advanced.
The skiing infrastructure is constantly being renewed to maintain Bansko's lead as a first-class winter resort destination.
Huge monitors showing pictures from the different pistes are on display at the base of the Gondola
enabling you to judge the wind and temperature conditions before climbing up the slope. The excellent ski runs comply with the
standards of FIS and are located in two main ski-centers – Chalin Valog (the peak’s hollow) (1100-1600 m.a.s.l.)
and Shiligarnika (1700-2500 m.a.s.l.).
There is some good off-piste riding available but local knowledge or having a guide is strongly advised
to avoid any danger.
Snowboard enthusiasts can enjoy long tree-lined runs or the new dedicated park with a half pipe facility
90m high and 16m wide. Here they can build jumps according to their own taste and ability.
Bansko provides a unique holiday where you can have
excellent ski conditions and virgin natural beauty plus experience the atmosphere of a quaint Bulgarian
country village - the best of both worlds!

In addition to on-piste skiing, skiers and snowboarders can enjoy the fun park
in the Platoto area which offers the extreme winter sports gurus the option to ski over artificial bumps and jumps –
and even build some of your own! There is also an area where you can practice
and boast your latest tricks.
The resort offers
great facilities for children. There are 2 children's ski lifts and a moving conveyor. The
area also has a ski kindergarten specially equipped for small children, a special children's ski run, a unique ski-roundabout,
a children's slalom course, a ski-through tunnel and other imaginative and fun facilities and learning aids.
The ski school has 100
licensed instructors offering training in various languages including English. Most of the instructors have experience
gained in popular ski resorts in Austria and Switzerland. The courses are organised in groups according to ability.
After completion of a course participants receive a certificate.
